Meet Founder, Elisa Hunter
Hi there, friend. I'm Elisa. Imperfect disciple of Christ, Mom, Certified Life Coach and Weight Loss Coach.
I have 4 kids, 3 cravings for chocolate (an hour), 2 stinky diapers in my purse, and at least 1 recent stain on my clothing. I totally understand a messy, crazy, imperfect life.
I am a lot like you. I'm just a person trying to serve God and accomplish my goals (better relationships, health, spirituality, time management, finances, organization anyone?). I'm trying to decrease my confusion, anxiety, shame, resentment, and overwhelm and increase my peace, confidence, progress, joy, and contribution to the world.
I study things that I'm bad at. I'm bad at a lot of things, so I do a lot of learning. ;)
I love to learn about personal growth. Ever since I can remember I have been interested in maximizing human potential. In college I studied recreational therapy (Brigham Young University), a holistic approach to help people thrive. In graduate school I studied Applied Positive Psychology (University of Pennsylvania). There, I had the opportunity work with leading researchers and practitioners. After graduation, I worked as an assistant instructor for Dr. Seligman (past president of the American Psychological Association and founder of Positive Psychology) and did research that focused on meaning, religiosity, and well-being. Because I study things I am bad at, I also have several wellness related certifications: Certified Life Coach, Personal Trainer, Weight Loss Specialist, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist (Click here to learn more about my experience). I co-founded a non-profit "Resilience Through Christ" course to help people increase their emotional strength and draw closer to God (www.resiliencethroughchrist.org).
In sum, I have spent the last 15 years preparing myself to help you.
